The woman in this post is Viridiana Arevalo, a woman who was brutally murdêrêd by her brother, Edwardo Arevalo, in Texas.
She was eight months pregnant but unmarried; she had a boyfriend. Viridiana’s brother was angry with her for being pregnant out of wedlock. He considered her an “embarrassment” and wanted to purge the ‘shame’ from their family.
On December 16, 2019, Edwardo who was 19 at the time took hold of his sister’s neck and strângled her to deâth before writing a fake sui-cide note which he left for the family to read.
He took Viridiana’s body and dumped it in an alley where it was later found. The investigators examined the surveillance cameras close to the crime scene and saw Edwardo at the scene before the body was found.
He admitted to the crime saying it was better she was not in the family as she was an “embarrassment” to the whole family.
In July 2023, Edwardo was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
