Donnie Wahlberg says he is thankful to be alive after a terrifying incident at a Las Vegas airport that saw a private jet carrying the actor and singer forced to abort its takeoff.
As per reports, the jet carrying the 57-year-old shot off the end of the runway and slammed into a fence at 11 a.m. local time on Sunday, October 18.
The frightening incident reportedly happened as the aircraft was attempting to take off from the Las Vegas area. The plane was unable to complete the takeoff safely, leaving passengers and crew facing a potentially devastating situation.
Wahlberg, best known as a member of New Kids on the Block and for his work as an actor, later reflected on the incident and expressed gratitude that he and the others involved were able to walk away from the frightening ordeal.
The incident quickly attracted attention because of the seriousness of what could have happened. An aircraft leaving the runway at high speed can create a dangerous situation within seconds, making the successful evacuation and survival of those aboard especially significant.
For Wahlberg, the experience appears to have offered a powerful reminder of how quickly circumstances can change. What began as an ordinary journey turned into a moment of fear, followed by relief that the outcome was not worse.
Fans and supporters also expressed concern after news of the incident emerged, with many sending messages of support to the star. Wahlberg has continued to maintain a busy career spanning music, television and film, and the incident came as a particularly alarming interruption to his schedule.
The episode has also renewed attention on the unpredictable risks that can accompany air travel. Although private aviation is generally subject to extensive safety procedures, takeoff and landing remain among the most critical stages of any flight.
Wahlberg’s reaction ultimately centered on gratitude rather than fear. After experiencing such a frightening moment, the entertainer made clear that being alive and able to move forward was what mattered most.
