Gabe Poirot was only 20 when an ordinary skateboard ride on October 25, 2021, suddenly became a fight for survival. Traveling at roughly 30 mph, he struck an object in the road and was thrown onto the sidewalk, suffering devastating injuries to his head. Gabe was not wearing a helmet, and the impact left him unconscious while friends gathered nearby and prayed for him. He would later say that, despite being unable to respond, he was somehow aware of those prayers. Doctors kept treating him as the days passed, but he remained in a coma for 18 days. What Gabe says happened during that time would eventually become the part of his recovery that people found hardest to forget.
After waking, Gabe began describing an experience he believed had taken place while he was unconscious. The YouTube creator, who has more than 2.2 million subscribers, later discussed it on Christian programs including the Heaven Meets Earth podcast, The Christian Broadcasting Network, and The Lila Rose Show. He described feeling as though he were being drawn toward a place filled with extraordinary light, love, and glory. According to Gabe, someone was waiting for him at the center—and when he finally came face to face with that figure, he says he heard a message that changed the way he viewed his life.
Gabe has identified that figure as Jesus, describing him as roughly 5-foot-11 to 6 feet tall, with a darker, Middle Eastern complexion and slightly curly, medium-length hair. He said Jesus appeared both 33 years old and somehow eternal, adding that no painting or physical image could truly capture what he believed he saw. Gabe recalled Jesus lifting his face and asking why he was worried about something that had already been “paid for.” His story is a personal account of what he says occurred during a serious medical crisis, rather than something that can be independently confirmed like an insurance claim, attorney filing, mortgage document, investment record, estate proceeding, or court judgment. He also described repeatedly hearing the phrase “worthy is the lamb,” words associated with the Book of Revelation, while seeing mountains, trees, rivers, and waves seemingly join in the same message. For Gabe, those experiences became inseparable from the 18 days doctors and loved ones spent waiting to see whether he would awaken.
What stayed with Gabe most was not simply the place he described, but the meaning he took from the encounter. Speaking publicly afterward, he said he felt as though everything changed when he saw Jesus, and he has continued sharing that story with millions of people online. The phrase he says he heard—“worthy is the lamb”—echoes Revelation’s description of angels praising the Lamb with power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing. Gabe survived the accident and eventually returned to tell his story, but his most striking claim concerns those silent 18 days: while everyone around his hospital bed saw a young man in a coma, Gabe says he was experiencing an encounter that left him convinced he had stood face to face with Jesus.
