Fiona Lowe’s Final Months — The Family Tragedy That Changed Her Life in Ways Few Knew

Fiona’s connection to dance remained one of the places where she could simply be herself. After the family lost their Pacific Palisades home in the January 2025 wildfire, returning to familiar routines carried a different emotional weight. The fire had destroyed not only a house filled with memories, but also much of the community where Fiona had grown up.

Mykesha Robinson remembered Fiona as the kind of child who noticed when someone was struggling. Her daughter Faith had difficulty settling into school, and Fiona was the one who approached her, invited her to play, and quickly became her friend. The girls became so close that they were affectionately known as “FiFi.” Robinson described Fiona as warm, fearless, and someone who could make almost anyone feel welcome.

After elementary school, the girls attended different middle schools and gradually lost touch. Shortly before Fiona’s death, Faith tried to reconnect through Instagram, but received no response. Robinson later said her daughter wondered whether Fiona was upset with her, a painful thought that became even harder to carry after learning what had happened.

The Lowe family announced that Fiona died at 13 and described her as loving, smart, creative, and deeply loved by her parents and sisters. Her death was later ruled a suicide by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. While Robinson believes the wildfire and displacement deeply affected Fiona, there is no public evidence establishing the fire as the sole cause of her death.

Today, those who knew Fiona are left remembering much more than the tragedy that ended her young life. They remember a girl who loved dance, made friends easily, and once reached out to another child simply because she saw someone who needed a friend.

For her family, the memories of Fiona’s laughter, creativity, and bright personality remain alongside an unimaginable loss. Her story has also renewed conversations about the emotional impact disasters can have on children and the importance of making sure young people have support when their lives are suddenly turned upside down.

The Lowe family has asked for privacy as they grieve, while friends and loved ones continue to remember Fiona not only for how her story ended, but for the joyful, caring girl she was.
